Horror stories set a mood and emit a tone which have enthralled readers for hundreds of years. Various moods and tones will be encountered while reading the stories in the unit "Tales Told in the Dark." |

Students will be able to recognize the difference in moods and tones in the stories from the unit "Tales Told in the Dark." After reading stories, writing articles, and creating poems, students will create a newsletter portraying these literary devices. |
