Introduction

"What do you want to be when you grow up?"  Some of you may not have a clue.  Don't get upset.  Help is available.  One day you will leave home to take your own job or go to college.  Where shall you go, what will you do?  Let's investigate some answers to these questions.  Home Economics can provide you with some outstanding career opportunities that you have not considered and can give you the answer to unanswered question of what will you be when you grow up! 

Task

Assume the role of an adult who will be making a presentation to an 8th grade class on your chosen career. Base your career choice on one of the areas targeted by the results of the Coin Interest Assessment test.  Your search should include the following areas: education or training requirements, cost of school or training, job requirements, salary estimates, job future, and advancement opportunities. Convince the students that this career is one of the  growing jobs of the 21st century and what they will have to do to prepare for it.

Conclusion

To be or not to be WHAT-- that is the question. During the course of this WebQuest, you will have found a great deal of valuable information about yourself and possible careers.  Now you will be able to choose a career that interests you, know which ones do not, and explain why.
