As president of the fan club of a famous person, living or
dead, you have been asked to present a biographical slide show at the unveiling
of a monument in his or her honor. The statue will be dedicated in the honoree's
birthplace, and you will be the featured presenter. In preparing for this
prestigious honor, you want to learn as much as you can about the famous
individual you will help to enshrine.
To prepare for the dedication of the statue, you will become
acquainted with the honoree by researching his or her background. Include in
your research facts about the individual's early years and youth, first
achievements, career highlights (such as awards, records set, humanitarian
achievements, offices held, or combinations of these), current status (if alive,
what he/she is currently doing; if dead, facts about his/her death and burial),
and miscellaneous information (required of enriched class, extra credit for
regular classes). You will need to include in your slide show presentation
pictures of the individual at each point in his/her life. At the end of your
presentation, give credit to the sources you used to prepare your presentation.
It is up to you to make the honoree's town proud!
